BSF Jawan Kills Self With Service Rifle In Odisha's Rayagada

Kalyansinghpur: In an unfortunate incident, a BSF jawan ended his life by shooting himself from his service rifle in Kalyansinghpur area of Rayagada district on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Dillip Mai was a BSF jawan attached with the 68 Batallion under Kasipur police limits in the district. The motive behind the army man’s drastic step could not be ascertained immediately.

Family feud is suspected to be the reason of his suicide but neither police nor any BSF officials have commented on the matter.

Sources said, Dillip had got married only four months ago. His family members too are yet to react on the matter.

Police have seized the body and it has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
