Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has sought uninterrupted power supply to the 67 centres where e-evaluation of annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations is set to begin from March 11.
“We have written a letter to the commissioner-cum-secretary, Energy today to make necessary provision to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all evaluation centres. Since the Board has decided to conduct online evaluation from this year, it is necessary to have uninterrupted power supply in the e-vidyalayas where the evaluation would be done. It has been decided that the online evaluated marks would be sent to the result processing firms and hence it is mandatory that all evaluation centres must have uninterrupted power supply,” BSE president Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda told media persons here.
He said in case there is power failure, the Board will make necessary arrangements for generators to ensure that there is no power disruption during the evaluation.
He also informed that the Board had taken up the matter with the School and Mass Education minister. “The minister has assured us that he would talk to the Energy minister and take necessary steps in this regard,” he added.
The online evaluation would be concluded on March 22.
Nanda also informed that the Board conducted a one-day training programme for the camp officers at its headquarters here on Tuesday.
He said the Board conducts a training programme for the camp officers each year to oversee proper monitoring and ensure that procedures of evaluation are followed.
“The camp officers will remain at the centres till the evaluation is completed. They have left for their respective centre after the meeting,” he added.
