Bhubaneswar: Few days after a teacher was forced to pass between the legs as a punishment at Balarampur village in Nayagarh district, another shameful act of Kangaroo court has surfaced in Balianta, on the outskirts of the capital city.
According to sources, a youth was forced to walk on the road wearing shoe garland for allegedly teasing a girl student of Betanda village in Prataprudra panchayat.
The youth, a resident of Kakarudrapur, was humiliated in the public by some youths of Betenda village and made to walk on village road wearing shoe garland. The incident took place on the Sunday, the video of which went viral on various social medias, sources added.
Narahari Swain, a local of Betenda village, said, “The locals of Betanda village thrashed him and made him walk on village road wearing shoe garland. This is an unfortunate incident.”
“We have asked the IIC to start investigation into the matter. We will take strong action against person who will be found guilty,” said, Satyabrata Bhoi, Bhubaneswar DCP.

Meanwhile, palpable tension prevails in the area following the issue. Locals of Betanda village moved to Balianta police station and asked for security after hundred of youths from Kakarudrapur village created ruckus in their village.
