World Hockey League finals: Ticket sale begins at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: With the biggest Hockey event of the year, the World Hockey League finals at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar just over three weeks away, the ticket sale for the eight-nation sporting extravaganza has started near gate no- 3 of Kalinga Stadium today.

The tickets for the 10-day event scheduled to start from December 1, have been priced at Rs 50 for the East Stand and Rs 250 for the West Stand.

Online tickets can also be purchased through www.ticketgenie.in.

The event will kick off with Germany facing England in the opener followed by hosts India locking horns with Australia on the first day.

India will play its remaining league matches against England on December 2 and against Germany on December 4.

While Argentina, Australia, Netherlands, Germany have been placed in Pool 'A', hosts India has been included with Belgium, India, Spain, England in Pool B. League matches will take place from December 1 to 5 and the grand finale will be played on December 10.

Meanwhile, in another significant development, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Tuesday announced a commercial partnership with Google-owned YouTube to broadcast the event. Fans will be able to enjoy the games via ‘Pay Per View’ on YouTube.

Notably, this is the third season of the coveted league which started back in April 2016 and will serve as the qualifier for the upcoming Hockey World Cup scheduled to be held at Kalinga Stadium next year.
