Woman charred to death in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A woman was charred to death when a major fire broke out in Deulipada village under Mahakalapada police limits of the district here on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Diptimayee Das (26) from Deulipada.

According to sources, a house in the village caught fire late on Saturday night when the victim was sleeping inside the house. Unable to escape the flames, Diptimayee was burnt alive in the house.

On getting information, fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

However, the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. The woman's body has been sent for post mortem, sources added.
