Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Saturday arrested Rojalin Mallick, one of the directors of Surya Nirman Resources Pvt Limited for allegedly duping investors to the tune of Rs 2 crore.
Rojalin’s husband Chinmay Mallick was earlier arrested in June in connection with the fraud.
According to reports, both Rojalin and her husband had promised to provide litigation free land at Chandaka on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
During 2011-12, the couple had collected Rs 2 crore from several people and other investors and had provided them money receipts and other documents of agreement.
The directors of the company had executed sale deeds in favour of the investors without their right, title and interest over the land. Later, Bidhu Bhusan Mohanty, a depositor from Cuttack had lodged a complaint against the directors of the company in connection with the fraud in May 2017.
