Kendrapara: District administration has ordered for a probe after several of voter identity (ID) cards were found dumped at an isolated place near Gop square in Kendrapara district.

The voter cards were recovered by few workers engaged in the construction work for a petrol pump in the locality.

“Our priority is now to ascertain whether the voter cards are genuine or fake. A detail probe will be subsequently conducted if the cards would be found to be original,” said Kendrapara collector Muralidhar Mallick.

Official sources said, the voter cards are supposed to have been issued between 1994 to 2011-12.

“After digging we found hundreds of voter ID cards dumped at the site and informed the administrative officials,” Sipak Nayak, a local resident.
