Violence reported before idol immersion in Cuttack

Cuttack: Prior to the immersion of Durga idols, violence was reported at Pithapur and Jholasahi here over border dispute today.

The incident took place when the welcome arches and lights were being uninstalled. Two groups of people in the areas clashed with each other by hurling stones and glass bottles at each other. Two cars and some other vehicles stationed there were damaged during the clash.

Later police forces were deployed in the areas to control the situation and avoid any untoward incidents further. sources said the situation is under control now.
