Bhubaneswar: Taking the ongoing war of words over delay in execution of railway projects to the next level, Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain on Saturday blamed Odisha for the tardy progress.
The Union Minister inaugurated the second entry and new station building with reserved and unreserved ticketing system at Bhubaneswar railway station and new station building at Sakhigopal on Saturday.
Earlier, addressing a press conference, Gohain stated that there is no dearth of funds but the railways is not able to complete several projects as Odisha government is yet to provide land for the same.
The minister said that already nearly Rs 5100 crores have been sanctioned for the development of railway infrastructure for 2017-18 financial year. "The railways is not able to carry out the projects due to land acquisition problems which need to be addressed by the Odisha government," said Gohain.
Gohain further informed that already there are several new projects for Odisha in the pipeline for development of railway infrastructure.
