Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced amendments in the eligibility criteria of UGC NET (National Eligibility Test). There will be changes in the rule which gives preference to reserved category candidates in the minimum cut-off list over the unreserved category.
Selection of reserved category candidates appearing NET for assistant professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), who earlier qualified with 15 percent, will now be considered at six percent.
The exam details are expected to be declared on the official website cbsenet.nic.in by July 24, 2017. Online applications to apply for UGC NET can be filled from August 1, 2017, till August 30. Fees for the exam can be paid up to August 31.
The test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on November 19, 2017 (Sunday).
The first paper of one hour and 15 minutes will be of 100 marks and held from 9.30 am to 10.45 am. It will have 60 questions out of which 50 are to be attempted.
The second paper, also of one hour and 15 minutes, will be of 100 Marks with 50 compulsory questions. The third paper of 150 Marks will stretch over two-and-a-half hours and have 75 compulsory questions. It will be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
