Jajpur: In a tragic incident, four persons, including two women were killed when a car hit a stationary truck from behind at Jarka in Jajpur district during the wee hours today.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be identified.
Sources said the car that was going towards Bhubaneswar from West Bengal dashed against the truck stationed on the roadside. While the driver of the car was critically injured, four others died on the spot. The driver was rushed to the Dharmasala hospital and later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
Dharmasala police station IIC Amitab Mohapatra said as per preliminary inquiry the four deceased belong to Digha area of West Bengal. "We would take necessary action and send the dead bodies for post-mortem once we get in contact with their family members."
