Baripada: In a tragic incident, two sisters drowned in a pond at Durgapur village under Baisinga police limits in Mayurbhanj district today.
According to sources, both the girls had been to the pond to take a bath but drowned there. Both were minors. Locals looked into the pond when both girls did not return for few hours.
The deceased were identified as Ruchi Nayak (8) and her elder sister Ranjit Nayak (9). The dead bodies were later fished out of the water body with the help of locals.
