Two detained in Bonai ATM loot case

Sundergarh: Two persons including an official of CMS Company, which was entrusted with the job of loading cash in ATMs, were detained by police for their alleged involvement in loot of Rs 25 lakh from a SBI ATM at Gurundia near Bonai in the district yesterday.

They are being interrogated, police said.

The bank manager on Monday lodged a complaint with police regarding the loot of cash from the machine. The miscreants also looted the CPU of a CCTV camera installed in the ATM room. Another CCTV camera has been lying defunct for last one month.

The matter came to fore after CMS officials informed about the loot to bank authorities. However, police suspected involvement of the cash loading officials as the ATM machine was found to be unbroken.
