Cuttack: In a bid to promote voluntary blood donation among people, two newly-wed couples donated blood by organising a blood donation camp to inspire relatives and others in Daraghapatna area of Cuttack on Wednesday.
Sai Prakash, son of Pramod Behera, got married to Pranati and the couple organised the blood donation camp on their marriage reception. Sai Prakash’s brother, who also got married on the same day, too followed the footsteps of his elder brother and donated blood in the camp along with wife Minakshi.
"I wanted to celebrate this special day for a noble cause by donating blood," said Sai Prakash.
Sai Prakash’s wife said, "Initially I was a bit apprehensive, but later I agreed to donate blood."
Heaping praises on the two newly-wed couples, the Central Red Cross Blood Bank's senior medical officer Dr Kanakalata Dei said, "This is a good effort and will inspire others as well to donate blood."
