Udayagiri: In a bid to promote Buddhism and world peace, a chanting and meditation programme was organised by monks of Light of Buddha Dharma International, USA at Udayagiri in Jajpur district of Odisha.
The 3-day International Tipitaka Chanting Ceremony was held for the first time in Odisha. Over hundreds of monks from India, Thailand, Myanmar, and China participated in the programme.
The event was organised in Odisha with the help of the Odisha Tourism department.
“The objective of the programme is to bring the monks from all parts of the world and conduct Tipitaka chanting. We are aiming to popularise the Buddhist sites of Odisha all around the globe through this programme,” said monk Buddhaditya.
