Malkangiri: With three more children succumbing to Japanese Encephalitis, the death toll due to the vector-borne disease in Malkangiri district mounted to 79 today.
The deceased were identified as Lata Bhandari of Kalimela block, Kuna Madakami of Puspaguda and Sana Kirsani of Rasabeda village under Khairiput block
Though the Health department and the district administration are taking various preventive steps, the death toll due to the disease is rising by the day in the district.
Earlier, two children died of the disease in the district on Sunday while one resident of Ampara in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh died due to the disease on Sunday night.
