Three injured in separate loot incidents in Odisha

Cuttack/Keonjhar: As many as three persons were critically injured in murderous attack and loot incidents in separate places across the state today.

In Cuttack, unidentified miscreants opened fire and attacked a security guard during a loot bid here at Pratap Nagari in Cuttack.

According to information, the security guard, a resident of Usuma area under Sadar Police limits was returning after his duty hours when four armed assailants stopped him and fired some rounds near Canal Road. They also attacked him with sharp weapons, snatched his Honda Activa and fled.

The guard sustained severe injuries and was rescued by the locals. On being informed police reached the spot and the victim was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Though the reason of attack is unclear, the police have begun a probe into the incident.

Similarly in Keonjhar, two persons sustained severe injuries in attacks by unidentified persons during three separate loot incidents at Nahguna village in Ghasipura late on Monday night.

The miscreants decamped with around 150 gm of gold ornaments and cash.
