Cuttack: Unidentified miscreants fired at Tahir, brother of suspected Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) operative Abdur Rehman in Jagatpur area of Cuttack today evening before fleeing the spot.
Tahir was injured with bullet injuries on his leg and has been admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. Later he was shifted to the SCB hospital.
It is worth mentioning that Abdur was arrested following a joint raid by the special cell of Delhi police and the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on December 15, 2015 on his Madrasa on the outskirts of Cuttack.
He was accused of running the Madrasa illegally and radicalizing youths for terror activities. Currently, Abdur is lodged in Tihar jail in New Delhi.
