Puri: Tension ran high at a private nursing home here today following death of a lactating mother due to alleged medical negligence.
Later, the nursing home authorities shifted her to another health centre as her condition got worsen. She died when being shifted, sources said. The kin of the deceased alleged that nursing home staff neglected in the treatment leading to her death.
A case has been registered at Kumbharpada police station in this regard. Meanwhile, Puri child line rescued the new born and admitted to Puri government hospital for treatment.
“We reached her after receiving a call from the nursing home officials. We found the new born was sleeping along in absence of any care taker. So, we requested an official of the nursing home to hand over the infant. Now, the baby has been admitted to SNCU at district headquarters hospital”, a child line official said.
