Bhubaneswar: The plight of technical education in Odisha has once again come to limelight after the admission process for the current academic session recorded the lowest ever students intake in recent years.

Reports suggested that there are as many as 88 private engineering colleges in Odisha with a net strength of around 40,000 seats. Like some recent years, the current year has also seen astonishingly lowest number of 4,600 students take admission into various engineering disciplines across the state putting the technical education sector in jeopardy.
