Kalinganagar: A total of 811 scheduled caste/scheduled tribe students from different schools and colleges located in Kalinganagar, Bamnipal and Sukinda area were awarded Tata Steel Jyoti Fellowships in a function organised here on Thursday. To support the education of underprivileged scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) students, Tribal Cultural Society (TCS), a society promoted by Tata Steel, awards Jyoti Fellowships to meritorious SC/ST students every year.

Speaking on the occasion, Krushna Chandra Nayak, district education officer (DEO), Jajpur, said, "I am thankful to Tata Steel for motivating SC/ST students from Danagadi, Sukinda and Harichandanpur blocks through Jyoti Fellowship. I am impressed with the programmes of Tata Steel for students of backward sections of the society."
