Sambalpur: The agitating 108 ambulance staff today resorted to another unique 'symbolic protest' seeking fulfillment of their long-standing demands.
The agitating workers have been demanding ouster of the contractual agency engaged in managing ambulance services and immediate payment of their salary arrears.
The ambulance workers today turned vendors and sold vegetables at Dhanupali Bazaar in Sambalpur. They were seen approaching passersby to sell vegetables to them.
Yesterday, the ambulance staff had staged a dharna by covering their faces with black cloths near Laxmi Talkies Square. Earlier, they had resorted to begging near Samaleswari Temple and shoe polishing at Kacheri Square as a mark of protest against non-fulfillment of their demands.
The workers warned that they would continue their stir until and unless their demands are not fulfilled.
