Cuttack: Notorious gangster Sushant Dhala Samant and arrested BJD Corporator of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Ranjita Biswal have refused to undergo voice sample test in connection with the firing on contractor Bijay Pal of Subhadrapur here, police said on Friday .
Though the JMFC (Rural) court had granted permission to the Sadar police for the test, the two refused to go for the same. Earlier, the police had also sought the court's permission to match the conversation between Sushant and Ranjita inside the jail and their voice recorded during interrogation.
Meanwhile, the three-day remand period of both ended on Thursday. After a two-day marathon interrogation, police confronted Sushant with some evidences along with Ranjita in connection with the case on the last day of remand. The police seem to have obtained some vital information during the interrogation.
On March 7, the Commissionerate Police had arrested CMC ward-7 Corporator Ranjita for her alleged involvement in the firing case that was orchestrated by Sushant from inside jail.
