Bargarh: In a bizarre incident, a man's private parts were chopped off by a contract killer allegedly at the behest of his brother and sister-in-law at Nileswar village in Bargarh district today. Injured Ashok Barik has been rushed to hospital while the accused, identified as Sudam Sahu of the same village, is absconding.
Soon after the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Sadar police station here against Ashok's brother, Seba Barik and his sister-in-law Shanti.
As per the complaint, Seba and Shanti had a dispute with Ashok over some issue due to which they had given 'Supari' to Sudam to eliminate him. This morning, Sudam allegedly attacked Ashok and tried to slit his throat with the help of a sharp weapon.
Failing to do so, Sudam cut off Ashok's genitalia injuring him grievously. Ashok was first rushed to Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition and later shifted to VIMSAR Medical in Burla after his condition deteriorated.
Doctor Tarun Kumar Bhoi, who was in-charge of the preliminary treatment given to Ashok at the DHH, said, “His private organs have been cut off with a sharp weapon. There is not much we can do here as there are no facilities available. We have referred him to Burla Medical. He might have to undergo a plastic surgery and his organs can be joined.”
Meanwhile, Sadar police rushed to the spot and has initiated an investigation into the incident, sources said.
