Sundargarh Cong MLA accused of threatening to kill BDO

Sundargarh: Sundargarh district’s Tangarapali BDO Soumendra Kumar Das has alleged that he is facing death threats from Congress MLA Yogesh Singh.

Sources said the BDO has filed an FIR against MLA Singh at the Lefripada police station in this regard. Das alleged that he faced death threats over phone from Singh when he refused to allocate all work orders under the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana (GGY) to his followers.

Das said, “When I refused Singh to give the work orders to his supporters as it is against the rules, the MLA
abused me in filthy language and threatened to kill me.”

However, the MLA refuted the charges and said, “The allegations are baseless. I called him and suggested him to give work orders as per rules. I did not abuse him.”
