State Film Awards: Pranab Pattnaik receives Jayadev award

Bhubaneswar: The 28th State Film Awards were held here on Tuesday with veteran singer Pranab Pattnaik receiving the prestigious 'Jayadev Puraskar' for his life time contribution to Odia film industry.

The makers of Odia movie ‘Chini’ received the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Samman in the best film category.

Samaresh Routray and Sangeeta Mohapatra (Lipi) received the award in best actor and best actress categories for the films Namarda and Mimansa respectively.

Ajay Rath also received the best director award for film Namarda.

Tarang Cine Productions’ ‘Tu Kahibu Na Mu’ also won awards in three categories.

Earlier, the State Culture Department had announced the awards under 27 categories. Here are the winners of the popular categories:

Best Supporting Actor– Minaketan (Mimansa)

Best Supporting Actress– Mahasweta Ray (Dele Dhara Katha Sare)

Best Comedy Artist– Chittaranjan Tripathy (Love You Jessica)

Best Music Director– Goodly Rath (Tu Kahibu Na Mu)

Best Singer (Male)– Sashank (Tu Kahibu Na Mu)
