Bhubaneswar: The State Level single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary AP Padhi on Saturday cleared three new projects in Odisha attracting investment of Rs 276.75 crore.

Replying to a media query after the meeting, the General Manager of IPICOL Kalyan Mohanty said the approved projects include the proposals of Tata Sponge Iron to set up 12.5 MW additional captive power plant (CPP) at Belipada in Keonjhar district with investment of Rs 80 crore, Beekay Steel Foundation to set up 0.30 MTPA Rolling Mill (TMT bars) at Kalinganagar Industrial area in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 105.87 crore and Saraf Agencies Pvt Ltd to set up scandium oxide plant of 2.4.ITA capacity and Ferro Titanuim Plant of 5000 TPA capacity at Chhatrapur of Ganjam district with investment of Rs.90.97 crore.

Mohanty added the e-biz system has been made functional and investment proposals are now being received through the portal. Various clearances and approvals are being issued to project developers through the portal.

The Chief Secretary advised IPICOL and the State Level Technical committee to make realistic assessment of land and water to be allotted to the newly coming up industries. He directed to make a field level check of the actual land and water use being done by the industries.

The Authority also reviewed the reports sent by the District Level single Window Committees. The Chief Secretary directed the district level committees should sit regularly and should also follow up grounding of the already sanctioned projects.

IPICOL was advised to simplify the formats through which the district committees would submit the reports. More powers were delegated to district level committees and the State Level Facilitation Centers.

Among others, Principal Secretary Forest and Environment Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Principal Secretary Steel and Mines Raj Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary Energy Rajesh Verma, MD of GRIDCO Hemant Sharma, MD of OMC Vineel Krishna Singh along with senior officers from concerned departments and respective project proponents participated in the discussions.

Industry Principal Secretary Sanjeeb Chopra presented the proposed projects and outlined the issues for discussion.
