Bhubaneswar: The State BJP has finally come out of the ‘troubled waters’ to confirm that it will go ahead with national president Amit Shah’s criticism on Odisha government, and not with the party heavyweight and union minister Arun Jaitely's ‘appreciation’.
The leaders of the saffron party today claimed that the dilemma over ‘stark contrast’ remarks of the BJP top brass was sorted out. A high level meeting chaired by the pasty’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh was convened at the party headquarters here today where all the district chiefs and in-charges have been asked to work as per Shah’s direction.
"The confusion is over now. All the district heads and in-charges, who attended the meet today, have been asked to go ahead with the message of party national president”, State general secretary Prithivraj Harichandan said.
The district presidents have also agreed to move forward with party high command.
"National president is head of the party. So, the party workers will move with his direction. It doesn't matter who has remarked what at his personal level", MLA and Jharsuguda district president Radharani Panda said.
Deogarh district in-charge Ashok Mohanty echoed similar voice. "Jaitely is the union minister and had come to attend a government programme. So, his statements will favour the government event. But, the party will move ahead with the national president. There is no difference in it", Mohanty added.
Similarly, Odissha in-charge of BJP Arun Singh has made it clear that the saffron party will contest panchayat poll against BJD.
"Our strength has increased ten times than the earlier times. We will reach voters with pro-people agenda during panchayat elections and ensure that Naveen Patnaik and his ministers are spending sleepless night", Singh told reporters.
Addressing a mega rally in Bhubaneswar on November 25, BJP President Amit Shah had come down heavily on BJD-led government and questioned its performance in the last 17 years and asked voters to uproot it for allegedly failing to fulfil even basic needs.
Just five days after, top leader and Union Finance minister Arun Jaitely had praised the State government while addressing the Make In Odisha Conclave here as a chief guest.
