Arrest

Berhampur: The son of an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) was today arrested for allegedly administering a wrong injection to a seven-year-old boy which led his death.

His mother, Manorama Bindhani, who was in Balasore at that time, had allegedly asked her son when he called her up over phone to administer the injection.

Barada then started vomiting and fell unconscious and was declared brought dead at the hospital, the complaint said.

Das had been on the run since the incident, Swain said.

The ANM has been suspended by Ganjam Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Manoj Kumar Behera at the direction of District Collector Prem Chandra Chaudhary yesterday.

The CDMO has also asked the medical officer in Khallikote to inquire into the matter, officials said.
