Bhubaneswar: A slew of welfare projects were inaugurated across Odisha on the occasion of Local Self-Governance Day today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik went on an inauguration spree during his visit to Berhampur where he unveiled multiple projects of Berhampur Municipal Corporation, which celebrated its 150th anniversary today.

Patnaik attended various programmes including 'Ama Gaon Ama Vikash' at Jagannathpur and laid foundation stones of several projects in Ganjam.

Several saffron party workers were detained for showing black flags to the chief minister during his visit.

Similarly, Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari, Tourism & Culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena among others also unveiled several welfare projects in Bhubaneswar on the occasion.
