SIT returns from Gumudumaha

Cuttack: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing into the Kandhamal firing incident, which claimed the lives of five innocent villagers of Gumudumaha, on Sunday returned to Cuttack after concluding preliminary investigation.

According to sources, the team has sent the seized evidences to forensic lab for testing.

The team has seized 15 guns used by SOG jawans during the firing, blank cartridges and clothes of the deceased from the spot.

We are waiting for the forensic and other reports. Once we get the reports, we will determine various angles of the investigation, said chief of SIT Gurudas Kundu.
