Bhubaneswar: Niankhunta.com chief Pradeep Pandey and Odisha Student Congress president Itishree Pradhan today criticised the commissionerate police for failing to record their statements even after summoning them for two times in connection with Rishi’s death and its alleged link with the sex video tape.
The duo, who had come to the Capital police station on January 20 for recording of statement under section 161 of CrPC, was summoned to appear today. However, both of them had to return empty handed as the Investigating Officer (IO) was absent.
"We came here for the second times. But, the officials remained absent and we will be summoned again. It is clear from this, how efficient the police are? I am sure a big deal is underway to suppress the case. I reiterated my demand for a CBI probe into the entire issue”, Pradhan said.
Rishi was a member of Chhatra Congress. He had been fed eight packets of drugs on the fateful day.Based on his talk what he had told me before his death, I named the city Mayor in the video tape. I can’t trust on the State forensic laboratory. So, the video should be examined at Central lab to bring the truth out. Moreover, I demand the statement should be recorded in front of a judge under section 164 of CrPC”, he added.
Similarly, Pandey, who earlier had told media to provide strong evidence/documents regarding Rishi’s death and its link with the sex video clip, came prepared to the police station. “I had come prepared with strong evidence and documents. But, I can’t tell anything about it before media as it may hamper the investigation process”, Pandey added.
“The trio who was seen in the video was three points on one similar line. The truth will come out if they are identified. The girl friend of Rishi should also be come to the purview of investigation”, Pandey quipped.
Itish Pradhan who went public and named city Mayor as one of the characters seen in the sex video clip posted on social media by web portal Niakhunta.com.
Later in the day, Rishi's father, mother and sister appeared before the Khandagiri Police for interrogation by the Investigating Officer.
After interrogation, Rishi's mother, Pritirani Mohanty told media persons that her son has been murdered and stated that she suspects involvement of Rishi’s friend titled Nanda. She also demanded that the Police interrogate girlfriends of Rishi and his friend titled Nanda.
