Bhubaneswar: A day after busting a high-profile sex racket at Kharavela Nagar in Bhubaneswar, police today said that three Thai women detained during the raid may get booked under the Passport Act.
"We will investigate if the Passport Act has been violated and inspect what kind of visas they have. You cannot violate terms and conditions of your visas or else various kinds of legal consequences may arise pertaining to deportation from the country as well as criminal procedures. So we are collecting all kinds of information and action will be taken accordingly. We will inspect the culpability of everyone during the course of our investigation," police commissioner YB Khurania said.
Meanwhile, the house where the sex racket was functioning in the guise of a Spa reportedly belongs to noted industrialist Trailokya Mishra, who himself has been staying on the third floor.
Trailokya's daughter-in-law Lopamudra Mishra who had earlier brought harassment and 'wife swapping' allegations against her husband and father-in-law said that the flesh trade must have been going on in the knowledge of both.
"Even though the business was running on fourth floor of the building it is very astonishing that they did not know about it," Lopamudra said.
On the other hand, Trailokya's son, Sabysachi Mishra has refuted such allegations saying that he had no idea about it. A Spa is a close circuit business and moreover why would we go inside, he said.
“The building was given for commercial purposes for monthly rent of Rs 20,000 to one Utkal Properties Private Limited. After the Spa started functioning, I also apprised the police about it in writing,” he added.
