Bhubaneswar: Intense heat wave condition was experienced in most parts of Odisha with 11 places of the State recorded maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius on Monday.
Titlagarh was the hottest town in the State with maximum temperature at 44.8 degrees Celsius followed by Sonepur and Jharsuguda at 44 degrees Celsius and at 43.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
Similarly, Sambalpur was at 43 degrees Celsius and Bhawanipatna at 42.2 degrees Celsius.
People preferred to stay indoors after 10 am as sizzling heat made life difficult. Markets and roads wore deserted look in these places.
Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre had issued Nor'wester (locally known as Kalabaisakhi) alert for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts till 8 am on Monday.
During past few days, temperature had dropped considerably in the State after Nor’wester rain lashed several parts.
