Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday slapped a fine of Rs 10 lakh on controversial godman Swami Om and Delhi-based industrialist Mukesh Jain while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against appointment of Odisha born Justice Dipak Mishra as the next Chief Justice of India (CJI).

A division bench headed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court JS Khehar ordered Om and Jain to deposit the amount within a month while saying that the petition was filed to grab public attention only.
