Cuttack: The lanes passing in front of three ticket counters at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack was overcrowded today as cricket fans have been standing in queues since midnight to buy entry passes for the India vs England ODI match scheduled on January 19.
To make ticket selling at the counters in disciplined way, the stadium authorities and Cuttack administration put up barricades and installed CCTV cameras. Besides, 10 platoons of police force have been deployed near the ticket counters to maintain law and order.

A cricket lover of Adaspur said, “I have been standing in the queue since midnight because cricket is my favourite sport. I can face any difficulties to watch the game played.”
When asked whether he did not felt an uneasy while standing in the queue for so long, the cricket fan stated, “The cold wave cannot perturb my love for cricket. I am not worried at all.”
Ticket sale began at the counters at 9 am today. As per the decision of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), one person can purchase only two tickets at the counters for the India vs England ODI match.
If someone is purchasing tickets of worth more than Rs 2,000, payment can be made through demand draft or debit or credit cards.
Total 15,444 entry passes, which are left out after the online sale and selling through the OCA affiliated institutions, will be sold at the three counters in the Barabati Stadium starting today.
