Balangir: In what can be called as a stern move, Balangir district Collector issued instruction to hold back a day’s salary of district officials who were absent in the monsoon preparatory meeting held here today.
“An order has been issued against the officials for their break-in-service as they were absent without permission,” informed Balangir Collector Ashish Thakare.
Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, who was also present, said action should be taken against the officials who remained absent in the meeting without taking prior permission.
“Officials from the PHD, RD and MI were absent in the meeting. As per the direction of the Collector, the officials would be served show-cause notice and a day’s salary will be withheld,” said a district official.
The district administration also discussed revival of the Deogaon Sugar Mill.
