Bhubaneswar: A day after hundreds of Congress and BJP supporters from Kendrapara district joined the BJD; the Odisha unit of the saffron party today alleged that the ruling party president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is inducting members without proper scrutiny.

BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma today alleged that CM Naveen is busy inducting people having links with Tito gang into his party.

"During BJD's ‘Mishran Samavesh’ on Monday, some people having connections with the Tito gang joined the party. I think the fear of losing in the upcoming election has made the CM so much anxious and worried that he is not even using his wisdom while welcoming people into his party fold," said Sharma.

Reacting to the statement of Sharma, senior BJD leader Pratap Deb said that the BJP is maintaining double standards over the issue and dared to provide proof that people with criminal background are joining the party.

"Why is the BJP afraid of people joining BJD? Can the BJP spokesperson prove that those who have joined the BJP have clear image? If the BJP has proof against any persons, who have joined BJD, then it must make it public," Deb dared Sharma.

Without any proof, it's not good to make such allegations against any party, Deb added.

Former Councillor of Kendrapara, Rashmi Ranjan Das along with hundreds of supporters of Congress and the BJP from Kendrapara district joined the ruling-BJD in presence of Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
