Rs 1.1 cr looted from Kolkata recovered at Soro; 2 held

Balasore: Police arrested two persons from Raipitambara village near Soro in Balasore district today and recovered Rs 1,10,20,000 looted by them from the house of a businessman in Kolkata.

One Naba Kishore Rout of Raipitambara village and Saroj Giri of Baringia in the district had been working at a jewellery shop owned by Santosh Kumar Poddar at Bara Bazar in Kolkata. The duo had decamped with the money from Poddar’s house.

The two were arrested and the stolen cash recovered from them in a joint raid conducted by the Odisha police and their Kolkata counterparts.

Investigation is on into the matter, police said.
