Rourkela: In a daring heist, jewellery including gold and silver worth Rs 1.5 crore was allegedly looted from the Prasad Zaveri and Son’s Jwellers shop located on the main road in Saranagari of Rourkela late last night.
Badal Prasad, owner of the jewellery shop, said, “The robbers entered the jewellery shop after drilling hole into two walls of 10 inch each and took away the ornaments kept in the showcase. Besides, they overturned the locker and looted the gold and silver ornaments.”
Before fleeing the spot, the looters also took away the CCTV hard-disk with them.

After getting a police complaint, Rourkela SP Aniruddha Singh and senior cops along with the forensic team reached the spot and began probe.
Manaranjan Pradhan, IIC, Tangarapali police station, said, “The robbers entered the jewellery shop after creating hole into the wall from back side and decamped with the valuables.”
