Bhubaneswar: The State is bearing Rs 7446.73 crore of revenue pending on various companies Finance Minister Pradip Amat said in a reply during question hour today while presenting the annual budget for the financial year 2017-18 here in the State Assembly.
Specifying on the various dues, the minister said Rs 2085.96 crores of revenue is pending on 109 companies under Commerce Department while Rs 2121 crores due is lying unpaid by 57 companies under Water Resources Department.
Dues of Rs 1846 crores of mining revenue is yet to be cleared even as 39 companies under Energy Department are defaulters of Rs 1279.77 crores of dues, Amat clarified the house.
The minister said IOCL, Paradip has not paid its VAT dues amounting to Rs 1485 crores since December 2015.
About Rs 60 crores of excise revenue is yet to paid while various state and central government organisations have not paid Rs 3255.14 crores of revenue, Amat added.
For the first time the budget is likely to be around Rs 1.06 lakh crore, an additional increase in size of Rs 12,000 crore more than last annual budget.
It is worthwhile to mention here that this year’s annual budget is likely to take a new avatar especially with the State Government deciding to merge both plan and non-plan expenditure in line with the Union Government’s budget. The Government has decided to allocate funds on a scheme-wise mode rather than department wise allocations.
