Red terror: 1 killed, another abducted in cut off areas

Malkangiri: In yet another instance of naxal terror, Maoists allegedly killed a villager by slitting his throat in Orapadar village in cut-off areas of Chitrakonda in Malkangiri.

Around 20 Maoists on Monday night barged into the village and allegedly dragged the villager out of his home. Later he was found dead at one end of the village with his throat slit.

Similarly, another villager was abducted by Maoists from Orapadar on Sunday night and his whereabouts are yet not known.

Sources said because of inaccessibility to the cut-off area, Maoists manage to unleash terror in the locality. The recent Maoist violence is seen as a move to counter the joint operation of the Odisha Police and the Greyhound of Andhra Pradesh, sources added.
