Bhubaneswar: There seems to be no let up in the Ransomware attacks in the state as computers of two hospitals in Kalahandi and Sambalpur have reportedly been affected by the WannaCry virus here on Saturday.
According to reports, two computers of Niramaya store in Kesinga in Kahalandi were attacked by the Ransomware malware which came to light in the morning.
The entire drug distribution has been adversely affected by the virus attack while senior officials of the hospital have brought the matter to the notice of Kalahandi SP.
Sources said, all the data in the two computers have been encrypted leading to chaos at the hospital.
The hackers in a message are demanding ransom in bitcoins, which involves digital currency transactions in anonymity.Similarly, computer at the sickle cell unit of the blood bank at VSS Medical in Sambalpur has also fallen prey to the ransomware malware today.
This is the third Ransomware attack to be reported in Government hospitals in Odisha.

Earlier, data system of a primary health centre (PHC) at Purushottampur in Ganjam district and two computers of Berhampur hospital were also affected by the virus.
In another incident, a personal computer system of a studio was also attacked by the Ransomware at Sarankula in Nayagarh district.
However, it is alleged that police did not register a complaint in connection with the incident after the matter was reported by the studio owner.
