Bhubaneswar: Speed trial of a train on the newly constructed track between Bolagarh Road and Nayagarh of the Khurda Road-Bolangir railway line project will be conducted by the Railways today to check if the section is fit for running passengers trains.
Earlier on May 11, a trial run of an engine had been conducted on this 12 kilometre railway route out of the 289-km-long railway line project. Later, a trial run of a goods train was also conducted on the route.
Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) Sudarshan Nayak along with other senior railway officials will be present during the trial run.
Nayak will examine tracks and signal system before the test is conducted. The trial is conducted to determine the maximum permissible speed at which passengers trains would be allowed to run, if the section is found fit.
Final decision of running passenger trains on the track depends on a clearance certificate from Nayak, said sources.
