Bhubaneswar: Two private bus associations here on Saturday dared to file extortion complaint against Bhuan alias Pramod Patra, one of the close associates of gangster criminals Sushil and Sunil Dhalasamant.
This apparently followed after they got police support to file cases against hardcore criminals and especially the aides of the siblings, who had spread a terror network across the State.
Police said two cases have been lodged against Patra for extorting the bus operators.
Though details of the FIR are not known, reliable sources said Patra was collecting money on a monthly basis from them.
With today’s complaint, Bhuan has now four cases against himself.
Meanwhile police said cases against the criminals associated with the Dhalasamant brothers, which were closed due to lack of evidence, have been reopened for further investigation.
Police sources said one case against Bhuan, which was closed in 1999 due to lack of evidence has been reopened.
Besides, after arresting 19 associates of Dhalasamant brothers, the Commissionerate police has chalked out special strategy to nab 10 hardcore criminals who were in the core group of these two criminal brothers.
