Bhubaneswar: With internal-investigations into allegations against BJD's Kendrapara MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda still continuing, the parliamentarian today said that a conspiracy is working against him.
While responding to one of his Twitter followers, the MP stated a powerful conspiracy is being hatched against him though he has no intention to quit his party.
"I have no intention of leaving the party I helped found, but as it is now clear, there is a powerful conspiracy to hound me out," he tweeted.
The statement came after one of his twitter followers - Binay Mallick sought intervention of the Chief Minister in the entire controversy surrounding the Lok Sabha member.
The BJD, however, disapproved Jay Panda’s remarks on Twitter with party spokesperson Pratap Deb saying any debate on social media can never impact party decisions.
"He (Panda) should come out with a clarification about the conspiracy that he is mentioning. Creating a ripple by giving such statements on social media is not justified. It will not have any impact on party decision," Deb said.
On the other hand, BJD’s Cuttack observer Usha Devi appointed by the CM to probe allegations against Jay Panda met party workers and leaders of Nischintakoili block today and heard them at the Inspection Bungalow in Goudapada.
"We informed that the MP neither has been in touch with any party workers in our block nor attended any party programme since 2014," Nischintakoili block president, Ashok Ojha said.
After hearing the party workers, Devi said "I am preparing the report and will submit it to the CM soon after he returns to Bhubaneswar from Pune."
Kendrapara district observer Pramila Mallick who had submitted her probe report to CM yesterday, had said that most feedback are against the MP.
Doubts are also being raised on the impartiality of the probe as many believe that the observers probing the allegations are deliberately collecting feedback from the anti-Jay Panda factions.
