Berhampur: BJD MLA Srikant Sahu from Polsara constituency landed in trouble after a petition was filed in the Orissa High Court alleging that he had furnished false information in his affidavit during 2014 elections.
Petitioner Rohit Pradhan, a general voter of Polsara alleged that the legislator had provided false information related to his educational qualification in the affidavit during the general elections.
The Centre, State government, district returning officer and the MLA along with the headmaster of Hatiota High School have been made parties in the case.
"He won the election by providing false information. We want the election be declared null and void," petitioner's lawyer Sidhharth Das said.
