Poacher killed in firing accidentally by poachers

Kandhamal: In an unfortunate incident, a man, who ventured into the Nedipaju forests of the district along with three others for poaching, got killed after a bullet hit him accidentally here in the district on Sunday.

The incident occurred near Tikabali area of Kandhamal district where four poachers had gone to the Nedipaju forests for poaching.

Suddenly after an accidental firing, one of the bullets penetrated one's body and he succumbed on the spot.

The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet. Sources said police have detained the three poachers in connection with the incident.

“We have detained and interrogating three of them. Further investigation is on,” said a police official.
