PM Modi's photo inside Lingaraj Temple most 'popular' in 2017

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: A photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi praying at Bhubaneswar Lingaraj Temple last year has emerged as the most popular photograph shared by a world leader on Facebook.

The PM's photo inside the Lingaraj Temple was the most liked and commented picture shared by a world leader in 2017.

The Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday had tweeted, “This picture of PM @narendramodi at the Lingaraj Temple in Odisha has emerged as the most popular photo shared by a leader in 2017."

Modi was in Odisha during BJP's two-day national executive meet in Bhubaneswar in April last year during which he had visited the 11th century shrine.

Sharing the photo clicked while he was praying at the temple, Modi had tweeted "Prayed at the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. The magnificence of the Temple and Temple Complex leaves a lasting impression on the mind."

According to a study -World Leaders on Facebook - conducted by Burson Cohn and Wolfe, when it comes to popularity on Facebook, Narendra Modi is the most-liked world leader ahead of other famous personalities including US President, Donald Trump.
