Bhubaneswar: The famous appliqué work (chandua in local parlance) of Pipili in Puri district will now find a place on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)'s website of the Indian Railways for e-marketing. To facilitate national and international market, other art and craft products would also be placed on the website.

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu declared this during a meeting at Pipili on Sunday.

Prabhu, who was here to attend the BJP’s two-day National Executive meeting, visited Pipili and interacted with appliqué traders. He also enquired about their digital transaction.

Later, attending a meeting, he spoke about various developmental works undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Odisha. He also assured to take initiative for ensuring railway connectivity between Khurdha Road and Konark via Pipili.
